Jade + Andrew // Monrovia

itching for a little dose of nature in the middle of (*cough* southern california *cough*) winter, jade + andrew opted to do their engagement shoot at monrovia canyon park - an adorable area with hiking trails, tons of trees and a killer view of los angeles. we kicked off the session with an activity - a little something to get them in a lovey-dovey mindset and help shake off the omigod-i’m-about-to-be-on-camera jitters. (they’re real and everybody has them, you’re not alone. promise.) then we pumped some tunes — i maaaaay have brought along a bluetooth speaker and queued up a spotify playlist that jade made for andrew last year (the modern version of a mix tape, so freaking cute) — and strolled and danced and smooched our way to sunset. (we all strolled and danced. they smooched on their own.)

engagement sessions truly are an awesome way to bond with your photographer before a wedding, whether you shoot two months before or twelve. i had a blast getting to know these two and i cannot wait for their celebration in the fall!
