Becca is an angel! She was the first photographer we met with while planning our wedding and my husband and I both agreed that we didn’t want to bother meeting anyone else because she was just so great! Becca makes you feel so comfortable and takes all the stress of your event away. I chose to do a boudoir shoot with her as part of our package and am so thankful I did. She explains everything in great detail, sends suggestions of her own and is also open to anything you want to do. We always felt so safe and taken care of with Becca. The morning of our wedding was quite stressful and as soon as I saw Becca at our venue, she gave me a big hug and all of my tension melted away. She is an amazing person and photographer, and I cannot wait until we get to work together again!

morgan + james' artistic desert wedding // joshua tree, ca

when james and morgan asked me to photograph their wedding, i could not say yes fast enough. they are two of the most uniquely talented individuals i've ever had the pleasure of knowing (both are fantastic musicians and composers - james plays upright bass for the dustbowl revival, morgan plays and teaches viola and violin - and they do quite a bit of work in the experimental music scene) and i was certain that their wedding would be infused with original touches, authentic to their deep, quirky, creative brand of love.

upon arriving at the joshua tree venue, wedding guests were given a kazoo, a bell wand and a piece of paper on which to write a message. the papers were tied to a tree with string, a la yoko ono's wish tree project, and set the tone for a day filled with gratitude, appreciation and art. kazoos, bells and whistling wind created music for the couple as they walked down the aisle and back again. at the reception, in lieu of an immediate first dance, james and morgan performed a first duet - two original pieces of music, both written by friends in attendance. the first told the story of how they met, the second came with instructions to extend the song by two seconds on every anniversary. tears were shed and laughs were had and we got stuck on a lot of cacti. (the struggle is real.)

....and then, several hours later, after my cozy clothes were on and my equipment was packed away, a friend ran into our airbnb and told me to grab my camera. i walked into the yard to witness the full moon shining through a hazy black fog, projecting a giant ring across the desert sky. a fitting end to an incredibly special day.

chris + bridget // pretty in pink // ruby street - highland park

*you had me at rose gold jewelry.

from the soft pink dress to the books on every table, this wedding just oozed personality. bridget and chris chose ruby street in highland park (a super hip neighborhood on the east side of los angeles), which boasts an awesome outdoor space, vintage-inspired furniture and a gigantic stained glass window that harkens back to the building's ecclesiastical past. i got to shoot alongside the wonderful and amazing rachael lee stroud, and from the tear-inducing vows to the shot-tossing toasts, this was a raging party that continued well past the photographers' exits. 'twas a night to remember (as long as you remembered to hydrate before bed). santé!

molly + john // a midsummer night's wedding // inn of the seventh ray

with twinkle lights and flowers a-plenty, john and molly turned topanga canyon's inn of the seventh ray into a midsummer night's dream-themed wonderland. as the surprisingly warm day turned to a perfect southern california evening, we blotted our foreheads and chased the sunlight up the hill, returning to the party to dance the night away under the stars.

dj a-ko nailed the vibe, spinning 90s classics and all of molly's favorite hip hop tunes. surrounded by friends and loved ones, full of laughter and kisses, it was a celebration befitting the end of any shakespeare comedy...or a really good teen movie with that killer party that you know you just can't miss. point is, it was a stellar affair and i'm delighted to share a sneak peek of the festivities!
